POLICIES
Anti- Sexual Harassment Policy
As enshrined in the Preamble to the Constitution of India, “equality of status and opportunity” must be secured for all its citizens; equality of every person under the law is guaranteed by Article 14 of the Constitution. A safe workplace is a woman’s legal right. The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (PREVENTION, PROHIBITION AND REDRESSAL) ACT, 2013 provides protection against sexual harassment of women at workplace and works for the prevention and redressal of complaints of sexual harassment and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. The protection against sexual harassment and the right to work with dignity are universally recognized human rights by international conventions and instruments such as Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination against Women, which has been ratified on the 25th June, 1993 by the Government of India. This is extremely relevant in a University which imparts higher education, where students, Faculty, Support and Administrative staff are the stakeholders. Gender equity / sensitivity including protection from sexual harassment are encouraged in our University. Dayananda Sagar University has been striving hard to promote harmony and dignity among its girl students/ women employees and to ensure their rights to safety and also to prevent abuse from sexual harassment.
