Dr. Prashanth Kumar Marulasiddappa, Principal and Dean, CDSIMER, is a keen academician and an administrator. He completed his Post graduation from Bangalore Medical College. He worked as a Professor of Physiology, for over 2 years, at Garyounis University, Benghazi, Libya, one of the most important Institutes of higher education in Libya. He served as Professor of Physiology at M. S. Ramaiah Medical College and Head of the Department of Physiology at both MVJ Medical College and Rajarajeshwari Medical College, Bengaluru for over 8 years.

He was also the coordinator of Medical Education Unit and is a member of Academic council and also actively involved in organizing training programs for faculty members and post-graduate students in medical education technology. He has several awards and oratrons to his name and also He has 23 publications in Indexed journals.

He was earlier Chairman of the Board of Studies at RGUHS
